Welcome to the heart of KSwish Foundation, a powerful symbol of courage, unity, and the transformative power of hope. Our foundation draws its inspiration from the unconquerably resilient spirit of Kenneth “K-Swish” Sims, a courageous teen who faced life-threatening illness with “active faith,” courage, and a team roster of supporters inclusive of friends, family, and community.
Inspired by their son Kenneth’s generosity, tenacity, magnetism, and faith, his parents, Terrance Sims, and Meshanette Johnson-Sims, established KSwish Foundation. It is a tangible expression of their deep love and unwavering commitment to uniting communities, nurturing athletes, and infusing hope into the lives of families navigating the challenging journey of pediatric cancer—a testament to what would have been Kenneth’s wish.
At KSwish Foundation, we are not merely an organization; we are initiators of champions in life, sports, and wellbeing. Our mission extends beyond the realms of support; we aspire to uplift spirits, cultivate resilience, and stand as a steadfast ally for families throughout their challenging journey. We believe in the profound impact of collective strength, resources, and compassion to shape a brighter, more supportive, and meaningful path for children and families.
The Foundation’s founders, Terrance Sims and Dr. Meshanette Johnson-Sims have experienced a journey that has influenced the Foundation’s journey. Their world changed when they got to know about their son, Kenneth, who started his battle journey against cancer. Kenneth, known by his nickname as KSwish, fought his battle bravely against his diagnosis. He inspired every individual in his surroundings. Terrance and Meshanette bought a vision that no individual should fight cancer alone; they need a supportive community. This foundation reflects their dedication, which transforms pain into shared hope.
After the surgery to remove the thymus gland, which was the primary cause of Malignant Disease (MG), Kenneth started to recover. The challenging healing process began to give hope to the family and became a source of strength for Kenneth.
Unfortunately, Kenneth had to re-admit to the PICU in February and fought the most brutal battle until May. Inspired by his journey, full of faith, spirit, and love from friends and family, the KSwish Foundation was established in September. In honor of Kenneth ''KSwish'' Sims, the Foundation was established as a living monument for cancer survivors.
